Traditional Territories
Acknowledging in the present, the impact of the past.
We want to acknowledge that we work (and live) on the unceded traditional territories of Indigenous people.
Our Surrey office resides on the unceded traditional territory of Coast Salish, sq̓əc̓iy̓aɁɬ təməxʷ (Katzie), sc̓əwaθenaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsawwassen), Kwikwetlem,
S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō), Á,LEṈENEȻ ȽTE (W̱SÁNEĆ), Kwantlen, Stz'uminus, Hul'qumi'num Treaty Group.
Our Port Moody office Port Moody sits on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Our Hope office sits on the unceded traditional territories of the Nłeʔkepmx Tmíxʷ (Nlaka'pamux), S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō), Stz'uminus, Hul'qumi'num Treaty Group.
At the root of counselling is the idea that if we want to affect the present and change our future we need to acknowledge the past. This applies to individuals, families and communities. Until we acknowledge that our current behaviour is based on values and beliefs we learned in the past we are unable to challenge these values and beliefs to see if they help us or hinder us. Because societal change starts with individual change we can start by acknowledging and addressing the fact that we live and work and play on the unceded traditional territory of Indigenous people. And that the beliefs associated with our Canadian Settler culture need to be challenged.

I will journey alongside you in your self-discovery, transformation, and healing. I can provide a deep understanding due to having gone through my own healing journey from experiences such as trauma, depression, and anxiety. This gives me the ability to provide a deep level of empathy. My passion is to help others through dark and difficult times with deep compassion. It is your journey and being there walking alongside you is a great honour to me. I know reaching out for support can be an intimidating process. I create a safe space for my clients to share their most deep inner thoughts, emotions and experiences. It will only take at most a few sessions to feel connected and safe in a supportive environment where you can feel comfortable exploring your feelings, experiences and pain with deep compassion and understanding.

I’ve always been interested in what makes people tick. After watching Kiss the Girls with Morgan Freeman, I knew I wanted to be a Forensic Psychologist. That didn’t happen. However, I stayed connected to my passion. I studied psychology formally and informally, which helped with my own growth and understanding of myself and those around me. I identified my triggers and reactions and learned to work through them. Building compassion for self and others. Allowing me to overcome the environment I grew up in. Using my years of study, I can help others in a straightforward and easy-to-understand way, enabling their self-growth to happen much faster than mine.

When my boyfriend died by suicide, in 2015, I was knocked off of my life path and found myself floundering and searching for meaning in the world. Nothing made sense any more. I felt that I needed to advocate for mental health and suicide awareness and that’s what I’ve built upon and what I have found meaning in - discovering a whole new way to view myself and live my life. Becoming a counsellor was a holistic and organic process for me that felt right and made me whole again. I offer a space to explore all of your challenges, struggles and pain while you have my utmost attention in a gentle environment in which to tell your story.

As a counsellor, I use my life experience to connect with my clients. I have lived my own transformation. I learned that the path forward is sometimes tricky and filled with uncertainty. I have always sensed a higher power supporting me. Connecting to this higher power has allowed me to give up my past anxious and frenetic controlling behaviours. I believe my clients find me for a reason, and there is a purpose behind them seeking help from me—so I answer the call, and I show up to support. I encourage others to see the light, the gift, the beauty within themselves.

Marion is a phenomenal relationship counsellor, and if you are looking to take your relationship to a stronger and deeper level she is the one you want to work with.
After decades of thinking that the way to happiness is working hard to change my life circumstances, I was at the point of burnout. I finally went on a transformational journey that took me through inner change—my real awakening. I was able to let down my guard, work through my guilt and pain and be my real, authentic self, which ACTUALLY led to a change in life circumstances that included my happiness. I’m good at helping people access their subconscious messaging, let go of guilt and pain and re-acquaint themselves with their true feelings and instincts.

I grew up thinking people didn’t want me around and that I was fundamentally flawed. I developed walls to protect myself by keeping people at bay. People can’t reject you if you don’t let them get close. This left me alone, exhausted, anxious, depressed and afraid. I knew I had to do something, and in taking a leap of faith to heal myself, I started my journey to become a counsellor. Having broken down my walls and healed my wounds, I want to help other people to do the same. To find their way out of their dark and lonely places and into a more friendly world.
