For many years, I pretended I was happy and created a façade of a great life. Yet, on the inside, I didn’t know how to enjoy it. It was difficult and lonely and the harder I faked being okay, the lonelier and the more difficult it got.
My turning point came when I learned to release my personal pain and be more genuine. Since then, I connect with my higher power every day and let it guide my actions. I have found that building healthy and fulfilling relationships while uncovering my own limiting and unconscious beliefs is key to the life I want to live. I question any fears that come up for me so that I live a more emboldened, adventurous, and creative life.
I learned how to help others who feel their lives are lonely and difficult to the point of depression and anxiety. My passion is working with couples and individuals who feel stuck in their relationships or stuck without one. I teach couples how to communicate more productively. I use focusing and similar experiential techniques to dive into the psyche and uncover negative unconscious beliefs. I use genograms to look at overall family patterns and intergeneration transmission of trauma.
When I’m not counselling, I’m canoeing, hiking, swimming, travelling, listening to music, going to concerts, reading, or making crafts.
